We all have those moments when we feel overwhelmed and stressed. Stress is part of life, but we need to be able to manage it.

Relaxation isn’t only about peace of mind or enjoying a hobby it is a way to manage stress.

Relaxation has many health benefits:

  • It slows your heart rate
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Improves digestion
  • Improves concentration and mood
  • Helps with sleep
  • Makes you calm
  • Helps you to see clearly

Sometimes we need to hit the pause button to stop ourselves becoming overwhelmed.

Take 5 minutes to be aware of yourself and your feelings, take a breath and think good thoughts.

Remember something that puts a Take a break, it's alright to take a breaksmile on your face – capture the thought and store it away to be used again.

This will reduce our heart rate and make us feel calmer.
